My personal opinions:
Both Biofinity Toric and Acuvue Oasys Astigmatism are superb quality lenses. They, not only able to offer the ultimate comfort experience in wearing toric lenses, but also enable wearers’ eyes to be healthlier and look whiter. They both have their on strengths and weaknesses. Thus, patient ought to try out both of the lenses before knowing which lens will suit themselves better.
I am a big supporter for Acuvue Oasys Astigmatism. However, I came to realised that there are patients who will not find Acuvue Oasys Astigmatism that comfortable in wearing; either it do not last them for long hours, or lens tends to rotate. Thus, these patients will definately enjoy wearing Biofinity Toric.
The main benefits that Biofinity Toric able to offer are:
- Higher prescription; up to -10.00D. (while Acuvue Oasys Astigmatism only has prescription up to -9.00D)
- Axis line available from 10 degree to 180 degree, with 10 degree steps. Thus, patients with odd axis line will able to enjoy the wonders on wearing silicone hydrogel toric lenses, as Acuvue Oasys Astigmatism do not offer odd axis line.
